Thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors at the 5th Annual Clean-up & Picnic event!

2018-06-02 12.09.14

The 5th Annual Clean-up and Picnic event held on the weekend in A.H. Browne Park at Avenue D and 37th St W was a big success! A big thank you to the many people who helped out, about 78! Lots of familiar faces who come out every year, and many new ones.

– The amount of waste removed that day was 3,950 kilograms (a 30 cubic yard roll-off bin was emptied 2 times in total with waste).

– 61 tires were collected and taken to A1 tire for recycling.

– A few needles found were disposed of properly.

– Many jugs and containers of oil were taken to the oil recovery centre at the landfill for recycling.

*** A big thank you to many people who made the event possible ***

Trucks: 3 trucks were made available by Adrian and Samantha Salahub with Contour Developments, Dave and Nathan N. and Dawn P and Colin B. Your trucks made a huge different to the clean-up, thank you for taking time to be part of the event.

Thank you so much to all the volunteers who came on their own and in groups of all ages. Despite unpredictable weather, you came out and made the event a huge success.

Thank you to Carpenter’s Church who brought many people out for the 5th year in a row. It’s so nice to see you out every year.

Pizza: was cooked up for the event by Mayfair’s very own Greek House. If you haven’t tried Greek House pizza, you need to!

Pizza sponsorship: Mike Yerhoff with Realty Executives made a generous donation and the Hudson Bay Park/Mayfair/Kelsey-Woodlawn Community Association donated as well. Thank you Mike, for thinking of the community again this year, and helping make the tasty lunch possible.

Fruit donations for lunch: Mayfair’s very own Safeway made a donation of fruit to serve 100 people! Thank you to manager Jordan March for the great community support.

Local business Unique Lighting on Idylwyld donated to the event – thank you for helping us out, we appreciate it.

Helpers who made it happen all over the place during the event: Dean R. spent the morning cleaning the play structures, thank you so much for this 🙂 Local youth Olivia M. helped again this year at registration, the lunch table, book table, and clean-up at the end – thank you!

Gloves: Kindly provided by Atrium Dental and Astro Towing.

Tables: Thank you Matt G. for all the tables you provided.

Books: Thank you Lori P, Sheri M, and Allan and Carol D. The kids seem to really love the free book table.

First Aid Kit: Thank you Dave N!

The City of Saskatoon, Fire & Protective Services, Loraas, and the Saskatoon Public Health Region were all part of the event as well, thank you for the assistance.

And lastly, the Community Association volunteer board members who made the event possible this year: Diane, Margaret, Kaela, Raelene, Dave, and Dallas. Thank you for all your time and effort at the event and in the couple of months leading up to it.

Thank you everyone, and hope to see you again at next year’s Annual Clean-up and Picnic!

Thank you for supporting the recent fundraisers for Ruckus at the Rink!

Thank you to everyone who supported the recent community rink fundraiser BBQs: the volunteers who worked at the BBQs, the friendly people who bought food to support the fundraiser, the kind people who stopped by to drop off a donation, and of course Westview Co-Op.

You all help make this community a better place, and we really appreciate every single bit of help in getting our rink fundraiser off to a good start! It’s going to take some time to raise the funds we need, but if people like you continue to help us out, we’ll get there sooner rather than later!

If you would like to help raise money for the rink at future fundraisers, or would like to donate to help us reach our goal, contact your non-profit Community Association by sending a message on this page or email the Community Association at hbpmkwinfo@gmail.com . You can also send a cheque to the address in the above photo. (be sure to write Attention: RINK FUND)

Many thanks for supporting your community!

Proceeds from the two barbecues: $1312

All proceeds go toward rebuilding your outdoor community rink.

Buy burgers at the BBQ or help flip burgers for the rink fundraiser!

*** RINK FUNDRAISER  – Raising money to help rebuild the community rink ***

Help us with our first Co-Op BBQ Fundraiser!

Can you help flip burgers on Saturday, May 27th? Join us at the Co-Op on the corner of 33rd St West and Avenue P North

We need volunteers for 1-hour shifts from 10:00 am – 4 pm

Email us at hbpmkwinfo@gmail.com for more information or to sign up to help.

If you can’t flip burgers, please stop by the BBQ to buy some burgers and drinks to help us raise money for rebuilding the outdoor community rink.
