As the new president of the Hudson Bay Park/Mayfair/Kelsey-Woodlawn Community Association, I would like to thank all of you for this opportunity to serve our community. My family and I moved into the neighborhood almost three years ago and have participated in many of the community programs offered in the past. We look forward to continuing to do so in the future.
Since taking on this role I have put a great deal of thought into what kind of vision I want to have for the community and how we can improve it, and
there are many issues that are coming into play for our neighborhoods at this time.
Some of these are the Mayfair Local Area Plan, the Avenue C traffic diverter, crime, the needle exchange on 33rd Street, property crime, traffic flow, care and maintenance of the outdoor rink and creating a sense of community for all residents so we can all feel safe as we go about our business.
I am looking forward to working with the city on the Local Area Plan and strongly encourage as many of you as possible to participate in this program, as it will truly define what our neighbourhoods will become and will create a vision for us to move forward on. If you are unable to attend these meetings or have other ideas to improve our community, please feel free to contact me and I will be more than happy to bring your ideas forward at the LAP meetings or the Community Association meetings.
I believe that while we have challenges in our neighbourhoods, we also have a great opportunity at this time to build a strong community that could be the envy of many other areas of Saskatoon. By doing this I believe we can build a stronger and more vibrant community all of us can be proud to live in.
Thank you for your support
